Such issues are usually a result of corrupted disk permissions, and the quickest solution is to install the update manually.

To do it, please close mInstaller (you can do that via Activity Monitor.app), go to your Applications folder, delete mInstaller.app, and empty your trash(!).

Download the latest version of mInstaller, install it in the Applications folder, launch the app and the problem should be gone.
